Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer in Austin, TX to support the project team and learn field and office operations. You will assist with shop drawing coordination, procurement, estimating, and schedule monitoring under supervision.

The role emphasizes hands-on education in construction processes, collaboration with superintendents and project managers, and exposure to billing reviews and material management on designated projects.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree required, preferably in construction-related field.
• Ability to assume responsibility and interface with project teams.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shop drawings with the project team.
• Provide office and field support to project staff.
• Assist estimating and quantity take-offs for tasks.
• Procure materials and maintain project inventory.
• Monitor schedules and subcontractor progress relative to material deliveries.
• Assist with billings and invoice reviews as directed by supervision.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Job Description

The Field Engineer is an entry level position reporting to the Superintendent with indirect reporting to the Project Manager, assisting the project team in the completion of a designated project. This position has the objective of educating the employee in field and office operations and to show the relationship of those efforts to the physical construction of the project.

Some things you can expect to do:

• Shop drawing coordination.
• Office/field support staff.
• Estimating and quantity take off.
• Purchase necessary materials to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain material and equipment inventory at project site.
• Schedule monitoring and updating.
• Monitor assigned subcontracts, subcontractor schedules relative to material deliveries and subcontractor manpower.
• Significant involvement in preparing billings and reviewing invoices.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
