Job summary

DEPCOM Power, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to support the execution of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure projects across the United States.

This role links engineering, construction, quality, and project management to ensure safe, efficient, and design-compliant outcomes. This field role emphasizes field problem solving, collaboration across disciplines, and direct contribution to the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Surveying, Drafting/Design Technology, or another related technical discipline.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or another related technical discipline.
• Experience creating reports, maintaining documentation, or compiling project-related data.
• Experience working against deadlines and managing competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with construction teams, engineering partners, subcontractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and resolve technical field issues.
• Partner with Quality, Construction, and Engineering teams to verify work per drawings, specifications, and project requirements; manage documentation.
• Generate and track RFIs between project stakeholders to support timely issue resolution.
• Review material submittals and construction documentation for compliance with project requirements.
• Support identifying and mitigating construction risks through proactive coordination.
• Maintain visibility into subcontractors and self-perform scope execution to drive quality and safety.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with AHJs and utility representatives throughout construction.
• Utilize drones to monitor progress and document site conditions.
• Collaborate across project teams to improve communication and outcomes on site.

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Field Engineer to support the execution of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure projects across the United States. This role serves as a critical link between engineering, construction, quality, and project management teams, helping ensure projects are built safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design requirements.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy being in the field, solving complex problems, collaborating across multiple disciplines, and contributing directly to the successful delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.

Current Project Site Opportunities

Potential Locations: Altoona, KS | Harrodsburg, KY | Bellwood, NE

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 (flexible based on experience)

Location subject to change based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This is a full-time, site-based position that includes daily per diem and home rotations approximately every 3-4 weeks.

Our Team

The Field Engineering role supports both self-perform and subcontracted construction activities across DEPCOM's utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects nationwide. Working closely with construction, project management, quality, and engineering teams, Field Engineers help ensure projects are executed according to design, contract requirements, regulatory standards, and customer expectations.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate with construction teams, engineering partners, subcontractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and resolve technical field issues.
• Partner with Quality, Construction, and Engineering teams to support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and verify work is executed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Manage engineering and construction documentation, including redlines, as-builts, field reports, inspection records, and turnover packages.
• Generate, track, and facilitate Requests for Information (RFIs) between project stakeholders to support timely issue resolution and minimize impacts to schedule and productivity.
• Review material submittals, engineering packages, and construction documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support project teams in identifying and mitigating construction risks, constraints, and execution challenges through proactive coordination and communication.
• Maintain visibility into subcontractors and self-perform scope execution, helping drive accountability to quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), utility representatives, and project stakeholders throughout construction.
• Utilize drones and related technologies to monitor construction progress, document site conditions, and support issue identification and resolution.
• Partner with project management, construction leadership, quality, and engineering teams to improve consistency, communication, and project outcomes across the jobsite.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience supporting construction, engineering, quality, project management, project controls, or field operations activities OR Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Surveying, Drafting/Design Technology, or another related technical discipline
• Experience creating reports, maintaining documentation, or compiling project-related data.
• Experience working against deadlines and managing competing priorities.
• Experience collaborating within a team environment to solve problems and support project objectives.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or another related technical discipline.
• Experience supporting utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), transmission, substation, industrial, infrastructure, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Experience in Field Engineering, Project Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Assurance, Project Controls, or other construction support roles.
• Experience operating drones or possessing an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) license Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, construction plans, and technical documentation, along with proficiency in construction management tools such as Procore, InEight, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $100,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
