Job summary

DEPCOM Power, Inc is seeking a Field Engineer to support the execution of utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and related energy infrastructure projects across the United States.

The role connects engineering, construction, quality, and project management to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and per design requirements. This field position travels across projects with daily per diem and rotations.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting construction, engineering, or field operations activities.

• Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with construction teams, engineering partners, subcontractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and resolve technical field issues.
• Partner with Quality, Construction, and Engineering teams to support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and verify work is executed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Manage engineering and construction documentation, including redlines, as-builts, field reports, inspection records, and turnover packages.
• Generate, track, and facilitate RFIs between project stakeholders to support timely issue resolution and minimize impacts to schedule and productivity.
• Review material submittals, engineering packages, and construction documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support field verification and installation activities associated with electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure, including coordination between engineering and construction teams.
• Support project teams in identifying and mitigating construction risks, constraints, and execution challenges through proactive coordination and communication.
• Maintain visibility into subcontractors and self-perform scope execution, helping drive accountability to quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with AHJs, utility representatives, and project stakeholders throughout construction.
• Utilize drones and related technologies to monitor construction progress, document site conditions, and support issue identification and resolution.
• Partner with project management, construction leadership, quality, and engineering teams to improve consistency, communication, and project outcomes across the jobsite.

This role serves as a critical link between engineering, construction, quality, and project management teams, helping ensure projects are built safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design requirements.

The ideal candidate has an interest in construction and engineering disciplines, with exposure to electrical systems, renewable energy, or power infrastructure considered a plus. Travel Requirements

This is a full-time, site-based position that includes daily per diem and home rotations approximately every 3-4 weeks.

Our Team

The Field Engineering role supports both self-perform and subcontracted construction activities across DEPCOM's utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects nationwide. Working closely with construction, project management, quality, and engineering teams, Field Engineers help ensure projects are executed according to design, contract requirements, regulatory standards, and customer expectations.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate with construction teams, engineering partners, subcontractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and resolve technical field issues.
• Partner with Quality, Construction, and Engineering teams to support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and verify work is executed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

• Partner with project management, construction leadership, quality, and engineering teams to improve consistency, communication, and project outcomes across the jobsite.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience supporting construction, engineering, or field operations activities, with exposure to electrical or energy projects preferred; OR Associate's degree or higher in a related technical field.
• Experience creating reports, maintaining documentation, or compiling project-related data.
• Experience working against deadlines and managing competing priorities.
• Experience collaborating within a team environment to solve problems and support project objectives.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience supporting utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), transmission, substation, industrial, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting electrical construction activities, power systems, substations, renewable energy facilities, or other energy-related infrastructure projects.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, construction plans, and technical documentation, along with proficiency in construction management tools such as Procore, InEight, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
