We are seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to support a large-scale industrial construction project in the United States. This role focuses on the on‑site execution of mechanical systems, including piping, HVAC, plumbing, and utilities, for the WAL6 project in Walla Walla, Washington.

The successful candidate will serve as the Owner’s representative on site, working closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution. Responsibilities include reviewing Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and technical documentation, supporting RFIs and field issue resolution, monitoring progress, conducting inspections, and assisting with testing, commissioning, and system turnover.

This is a hands‑on field position suited to an engineer with a strong understanding of construction practices, the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines, and a proactive approach to resolving on‑site mechanical challenges.

Per diem included for this long‑term opportunity with exceptional growth and advancement potential!

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Owner in overseeing mechanical works on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, applicable codes, client requirements, and HSE procedures.
  • Support on‑site execution of mechanical systems, including process and utility piping, HVAC, plumbing, equipment installation, supports, insulation, testing, and turnover activities.
  • Coordinate daily activities with contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, construction management, QA/QC, HSE, engineering, and commissioning teams.
  • Review and interpret IFC drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, HVAC and plumbing drawings, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Verify that field installations align with design documentation and identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
  • Assist in resolving RFIs, technical queries, design conflicts, constructability issues, and field changes.
  • Identify and elevate technical, quality, safety, or schedule risks to the Mechanical or Construction Manager.
  • Monitor construction progress and report delays, deviations, or potential project impacts.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, technical reviews, and site walkdowns with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct field inspections and quality checks across mechanical installations and system interfaces.
  • Support testing, flushing, cleaning, leak testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and final system turnover.
  • Track and verify closure of punch list items and support project close‑out activities.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE requirements, including permits to work, hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, pressure testing safety, and LOTO procedures.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with all stakeholders and ensure timely documentation and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in mechanical field engineering, construction, or industrial project execution.
  • Practical experience with piping, HVAC, plumbing, and/or utility systems on large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and technical documentation.
  • Solid understanding of installation practices, construction sequencing, QA/QC processes, and project turnover.
  • Familiarity with U.S. construction practices and relevant mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and piping codes.
  • Experience managing RFIs, punch lists, inspections, progress reporting, and contractor coordination.
  • Strong technical knowledge of piping systems, supports, valves, pumps, HVAC equipment, ductwork, plumbing systems, and utilities.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
