Job summary

Ultimate Knowledge Institute seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer who writes code, reasons about systems, and ships cloud-native software in real-world environments.

You will embed with customer teams, deploy across cloud and on-prem, and help clients adopt best practices in GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, and distributed systems. Kubernetes experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering (backend or platform).
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (TypeScript, Java, Go, Python).
• Hands-on Kubernetes deployment/operational experience in production.
• Practical GitOps experience (ArgoCD preferred; Flux acceptable).
• Experience Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, Helm, or Kustomize.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems: containers, APIs, microservices, networking.
• Familiarity with CNI plugins (Calico, Cilium, Multus).
• Strong networking fundamentals (DNS/TCP/IP/firewalls/proxies).
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred; GovCloud a plus).
• Automation tooling in Bash/Shell/Python.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customer teams to ensure successful outcomes.
• Ship code, build tooling, and write automation for deployments.
• Debug distributed‑systems failures and advise on GitOps and IaC best practices.
