Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is seeking a results‑oriented Field Engineer Intern to contribute to our Automated Logic building automation programs.

This role supports startup, commissioning, calibration, and documentation, with frequent local travel and hands‑on exposure to HVAC control systems, Visio and Excel tools, and customer‑facing activities.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in any Engineering field.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Possess and maintain valid driver's license and be insurable.
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of a typical work week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, commission and re-commission of customer systems using pneumatic/electrical/electronic tech.
• Assist with maintaining As-Built drawings in Visio, Excel, Word.
• Assist during calibration with basic electronic test equipment (multimeters, network terminals, laptop).
• Assist in static and dynamic commissioning of software programming.
• Assist in set-up of operator workstations with all software.
• Backups of job databases daily or as advised.
• Assist with turnover to service and track progress to inform lead personnel.
• Communicate with lead project personnel on arrival and departure from site.
• Complete time sheets, expense reports and project documentation on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, commission and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic / electrical / electronic technology
• Assist with maintaining accurate As-Built drawing package and making changes in Visio, Excel, Word, as required
• Assist during calibration of systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop computer
• Assist in static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming
• Assist in the set-up of operator workstations with all associated software
• Responsible for performing job database backups daily or as advised
• Assist with turnover to service
• Track and record job progress and keep lead project personnel informed on progress
• Keep project management appraised of concerns and issues
• Complete paperwork on time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation and project status reports
• Communicate with lead project personnel upon arrival and before leaving the work site

Basic Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in any Engineering field.
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by our company's insurance carrier
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of typical work week, mostly local travel and seldom overnight hotel stay

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of control logic
• Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred
• Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred
• Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
