Orion Group Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate activities for designated projects to ensure goals are met on time and within budget.

The role requires flexibility for long hours and weekend work as project needs dictate. The position involves collaboration with Project Managers and Superintendents, reviewing drawings, managing submittals, maintaining logs, updating schedules, and tracking costs across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related discipline required.
• Minimum 1 year of construction-related experience.
• Working knowledge of Project Engineer functions.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, Adobe, construction drawings software (e.g., PlanGrid).
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work well under pressure and high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation and planning of pre-job meetings (plans, specifications, budgets, cost targets, scheduling).
• Assists Project Manager(s) in the management of all assigned jobs.
• Reviews and processes shop drawings and submittals, checking for accuracy against drawings and specifications.
• Distributes drawing revisions to PMs, Superintendents, and Subcontractors; requests new shop drawings as needed.
• Prices revisions and field work tickets; updates drawing log with revisions.
• Maintains the RCO log and PM Submittal Log for each project.
• Keeps project schedules updated and documents delays.
• Orders and reviews materials for accuracy (rebar, shoring, forming, etc.).
• Contacts Superintendents and visits job sites to identify problems and assist in solutions.
• Codes and approves invoices as requested; tracks manhours & job cost weekly.
• Prepares project reports for management and clients.
