Job summary

Civil West, part of the PCL Family of Companies, invites student interns to join as Field Engineer Intern in Texas. You will support field staff, project managers and trade partners while gaining hands-on exposure to complex infrastructure delivery.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in construction-related programs, available May–August, and eligible to work in the United States. You’ll participate in safety/quality audits, read drawings, and contribute to shared project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing a construction-related degree.
• Interest in a career in the construction industry.
• Available to work full-time May–August.
• Willing to temporarily relocate to project locations.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• 18+ with a valid driver's license.
• Employment contingent on passing a third-party substance abuse test.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Conduct safety and quality audits.
• Read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Log submittals, process RFIs, and prepare reports.
• Assist with surveying and project layout.
• Maintain field drawings and equipment records.
• Coordinate material deliveries and documentation.
• Attend project meetings and prepare memos/letters.
• Assist with estimating and requesting subcontractor/pricing information.
• Other duties as assigned.
