Job summary

William Charles Construction, part of MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group, seeks Construction Field Engineer Interns for Summer 2026 on our New Albany, IN project. The intern will assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager and may participate in estimating, quality plans, and site-specific plans.

Responsibilities include site surveys, material inventory, audits, and documentation, with extended hours likely.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental Safety and Health.
• Other applicable degrees include Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field survey work for layout and tracking using PC-based software and GPS equipment.
• Help manage project quality control records and required reporting.
• Support planning, scheduling, and coordination for audits and inspections.
• Assist with material inventory and receiving paperwork.
• Assist with final job closeout, as-builts and job binder creation.
• Support subcontractor scheduling and management.
• Assist with RFI submittals.
