Job summary

Kiewit is offering an Internship in the South Central District, focused on construction management and field operations. You will participate in hands-on activities across engineering, planning and procurement to gain real-world experience in a major construction environment.

The program targets students pursuing civil engineering or construction management degrees, with opportunities to travel and relocate as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel or relocate as needed.
• Work full-time during the summer (May–August).
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in diverse climates and environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration and supervision of field activities.
• Performing engineering tasks using standard techniques and addressing minor technical problems on site.
• Maintaining records on job progress, costs and materials usage.
• Planning and scheduling of job segments and activities.
• Investigating problems and proposing solutions as appropriate.
• Reviewing plans to determine material requirements and pricing.
