Job summary

GH Phipps Wyoming in Colorado Springs is seeking an undergraduate student to support construction project teams. You will assist in reviewing documents, coordinating shop drawings, and helping enforce safety requirements on site.

You will help develop and review JHAs, assist with material delivery, QA programs, and the creation of weekly work plans while gaining exposure to Procore and Bluebeam. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 months related industry preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in review of project documents and maintains adherence to plans and specifications.
• Reviews shop drawings for project coordination.
• Supports team in the enforcement of requirements for jobsite safety.
• Assists with developing and reviewing JHAs.
• Assists with material delivery/procurement.
• Assists GH Phipps’ Quality Assurance Program.
• Assists with all aspects of job setup, project meetings, and close-out as directed.
• Assists supervisor in maintaining as-built drawings and specifications.
• Assists in supervising specific trade partners as directed.
• Assists craft with managing day to day tasks.
• Assists with creating and managing weekly work plans.
• Assists with production tracking of craft and trade partners.
• Assists with maintaining horizontal and vertical control.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field

EXPERIENCE

3 months related industry preferred but not required

SKILLS

• Proficiency in Microsoft suite
• General familiarity with construction software (PROCORE and Bluebeam preferred)
• General familiarity with plan and specification reading
• Ability to assist with and perform necessary functions for more than one project
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Verifiable work references demonstrating exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and communication skills
• Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screens
• All positions at GH Phipps are considered safety sensitive. Position may be required to visit a construction site at any time.
• In person, regular attendance required

This position pays $22.00/hour
