Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking candidates in Charlotte, NC who are pursuing degrees in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or have equivalent experience. You will support field teams, maintain safety standards, and contribute to project layout and procurement activities.

The role emphasizes strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork across owners, design partners, subcontractors, and suppliers. Valid driver’s license required for site access and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority.
• Manage and support a team of construction coworkers.
• Build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, subcontractors.
• Review and draft technical submittals such as schedule, shop drawings, work plans, etc.
• Monitoring quality control, safety and environmental programs.
• Understand and assist with project layout.
• Identify critical work items, and procure long‑lead items.
• Assist with contract administration including budget and change procedures.
• Assist with material procurement including logistics.
• Work together to resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
• Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals.
