Job summary

Cape Environmental Management Inc is seeking a Field Engineer I or II in Byram Township, NJ to join our Construction Services Team as an on-site QC Officer. The role advances a candidate toward project management through hands-on field experience and defect resolution responsibilities.

Qualified applicants will have a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree and 3–4 years of field/QC experience. The position includes significant travel and occasional work from home during project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Three years experience for Field Engineer I; four years for Field Engineer II in design, field management, and QC management.
• Experience in construction work and on-site quality control with subcontractors and self-performing crews.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site Project Quality Control (QC) Officer for diverse field projects.
• Implement site-specific QC plan requirements and oversee 3-phase QC process; review submittals and conduct inspections.
• Stop work if major deficiency occurs and coordinate with Project Manager to resolve issues.
• Work with Senior Engineers for coaching, training, and project support; downtime may occur requiring home-based tasks.
