Field Engineer I - Primoris Renewable Energy

Job Overview

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking Field Engineers for both immediate and 2025 start dates. This is a site-based role. The Field Engineer will oversee daily project site operations under supervision of the Trade Superintendent, Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Site Manager. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, schedule, quality, and cost controls, providing technical input for power generation construction projects, supporting engineering review, procurement, construction, and start-up of high/medium voltage electrical systems. The role involves installation guidance, QA/QC enforcement, scheduling, owner communication, review of engineer as-builts, and assisting with supervision of craft personnel and subcontractors to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily production, costs, and safety data; prepare and review reports for planning and analysis.
  • Coordinate scheduling with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; maintain professional relationships; document communications.
  • Understand contract documents for billing, validate quantities, and communicate discrepancies.
  • Manage equipment and material transactions, monitor inventory.
  • Ensure safety compliance, assist with subcontractor safety and risk management programs.
  • Familiarize with project design, specifications, quality plans, and assist in quality management, documentation, and meetings.
  • Coordinate permits, utility work, and land agreements; manage One-Call procedures.
  • Verify daily reports, analyze field information, and conduct project kick-off and closeout activities.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and document control processes.
  • Assist with work planning, material takeoffs, and equipment/matrix updates.
Basic Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Effective communication and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to relocate to project site for 6-18 months.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
Environmental Responsibilities

Ensure environmental compliance, train staff, monitor site conditions, and collaborate with environmental agencies and stakeholders to meet regulations and minimize impact.
