Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer Layout Technician to support field crews in establishing field layouts from contract documents, including duct, pipe, elevations, sleeves, and wall layouts.

The role involves learning Trimble software and hardware and working closely with Layout Technicians and the VDC team. Ideal candidates may come from survey work or be licensed surveyors seeking growth.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have good work ethic and meet deadlines.
• Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to pass a drug screen.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist field crews with layout using contract documents.
• Perform horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout and hangers.
• Learn to operate Trimble equipment.
• Maintain equipment and calibration daily.

Summary/Objective

The Field Engineer Helper will assist field crews by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes. This could include but not limited to the following: horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, and hangers. Also learning to operate Trimble equipment.

They will work closely with the Layout Technicians and VDC team and learn to become a fully qualified Field Engineer. The best candidates usually have a background in survey work or are licensed surveyors that want to grow in their field of work.

Essential Functions

• Working in a field environment


• Assisting field crews and customers with layout


• Ability to use Trimble software and hardware


• Maintaining equipment on a daily basis and staying current with the annual calibration


• Performs other duties as assigned
