The Field Engineer Helper will assist field crews by creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, walls, and hangers, while learning to operate Trimble equipment. Ideal candidates have a background in survey work or are licensed surveyors seeking growth.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to manage deadlines.
• Self-starter who can work independently and communicate effectively.
• Ability to collaborate with field crews and customers.
• Must pass drug screen and maintain driving record.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist field crews with layout and field measurements.
• Operate Trimble software and hardware for layouts.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment on a daily basis.
• Collaborate with Layout Technicians and VDC team.
• Support field objectives and learn to become a qualified Field Engineer.

Summary/Objective:

The Field Engineer Helper will assist field crews by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes. This could include but not limited to the following: horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, and hangers. Also learning to operate Trimble equipment.

They will work closely with the Layout Technicians and VDC team and learn to become a fully qualified Field Engineer. The best candidates usually have a background in survey work or are licensed surveyors that want to grow in their field of work.

Essential Functions

• Working in a field environment
• Assisting field crews and customers with layout
• Ability to use Trimble software and hardware
• Maintaining equipment on a daily basis and staying current with the annual calibration
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Must possess good work ethic and be accountable for deadlines

Preferred

• HS diploma or GED equivalent
• CAD experience
• Prior military experience
