Job summary

Whitaker Construction is seeking a Field Engineer to monitor activities at assigned construction sites in Utah and coordinate deliveries with vendors. The role requires daily site inspections, tracking earthwork balances, and reporting progress to the Project Manager.

You will manage material logs, photos, and field records while ensuring compliance with codes and standards. The position emphasizes strong communication, ability to read plans, and proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of construction site work experience is a plus; earthwork or utility experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; scheduling tools familiarity beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager with material controls, delivery dates, and schedules.
• Track field progress, site conditions, and quantities for reporting.
• Coordinate deliveries with vendors and verify shipments against orders.
• Maintain field records, minutes, logs, NCRs, and PCOs; file findings for reference.
• Record photos and progress for closeouts and owner reviews.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry codes; assist in corrections.
