Job summary

Blattner is expanding our energy construction leadership into gas power generation. This entry-level Field Engineer role connects plans on paper to field work, supporting large renewable energy projects and developing a long-term construction leadership career.

You will gain hands-on experience nationwide, with mentorship and clear performance feedback. You'll travel to project sites, coordinate with superintendents and subcontractors, track costs, and help ensure safety, quality, and timely

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Interest in renewable energy or large-scale construction projects.
  • Willingness to travel and work project-based assignments (typical projects range 6-18 months).

Responsibilities

  • Support daily construction operations to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with trade superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to keep work moving efficiently.
  • Track daily production quantities, equipment usage, and cost data for reporting and forecasting.
  • Assist with short-interval planning and daily Plan of the Day execution.
  • Support QA/QC inspections, documentation, and compliance with project Quality Plans.
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities including SWPPP, erosion control, and permit requirements.
  • Monitor job costs against estimates and elevate risks or variances early.

This is a unique opportunity to help build this new business from the ground up, backed by a company with decades of proven success in the energy sector. This position will help us shape the processes and standards that carry this business forward to deliver end-to-end hybrid energy solutions.

Why This Role Matters

Our entry-level leadership role of a Field Engineer is the backbone of our project teams-connecting plans on paper to work in the field. You'll play a critical role in delivering some of the largest, most complex renewable energy projects in the country while building the foundation for a long-term career in construction leadership. This is a hands-on, high-impact role designed for those who want real responsibility early, to thrive in the field, and take pride in building infrastructure that matters. This position provides exposure to construction projects nationwide and supports professional growth through a wide range of potential career paths.

What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Project Execution & Field Coordination: Support daily construction operations to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Coordinate with Trade Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to keep work moving efficiently
  • Track daily production quantities, equipment usage, and cost data to support accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Assist with short-interval planning (two-week lookahead) and daily Plan of the Day execution
  • Quality, Safety & Environmental Stewardship: Help enforce Blattner's zero life-altering events safety culture on site
  • Support QA/QC inspections, documentation, and compliance with project Quality Plans
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities including SWPPP, erosion control, and permit requirements
  • Documentation & Cost Control: Support engineering reviews, RFIs, as-builts, and job book documentation
  • Assist with subcontractor progress tracking, pay applications, and change documentation
  • Monitor job costs against estimates and elevate risks or variances early
  • Collaboration & Leadership Development: Partner closely with Superintendents, Project Construction Coordinators, and Site Managers to support field leadership
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, landowners, utilities, and internal teams
  • Participate in structured onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing development opportunities

$70,500.00 - $103,175.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
