Job summary

Boundary Zone, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer / Survey Crew Chief with construction staking and residential development experience near Tampa, Florida.

The position offers full-time work with a company truck; salary is based on experience and a drug screening is required. Responsibilities include field surveys, staking, client communication, mentoring staff, and traveling to job sites.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Civil Engineering, Construction Layout, Survey Crew Chief experience.
• Experience in construction staking and residential development.
• Must pass drug screen and have reasonable commute to Tampa.
• Within commuting distance of Tampa area.

Responsibilities

• Complete field layout / engineering measurement surveys accurately.
• Use proper equipment for field verifications.
• Perform construction staking and new home layout.
• Communicate information with client and project manager.
• Mentor and train survey field assistants.
• Read deeds, plats, and construction plans.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle; travel to job sites.

Boundary Zone, Inc.is recruiting for anexperienced Field Engineer / Survey Crew Chief with Construction Staking and Residential Development experience near Tampa, Florida.

Must pass Drug Screening

Only candidates withLand Surveying / Civil Engineering experience in Construction Staking and Residential Development Experiencewill be considered. Preference given to candidates with interest in progressing their career in professional land surveying. Must be within reasonable commute of Tampa area.

Salary based on Experience. Company Truck Provided.

TheField Engineeris responsible for, but not limited to:

• The successful and accurate completion of the field layout / engineering measurement surveys.
• The utilization of the proper equipment to complete the field verifications.
• Construction staking and new home layout
• Communicating necessary information with the client and project manager.
• Mentoring and training survey field assistants.
• Ability to read and understand deeds and plats and construction plans.
• Proper use and care of equipment and vehicle.
• Efficient travel to job location.
• Keeping up-to-date with Civil Engineering, survey practices and construction procedures.
• Maintaining a good driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Experience: 4 or more years of Civil Engineering, Construction Layout, Survey Crew chief experience.

• Having your own gear and Total Station, a plus

Preferred skills and abilities:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Interest in becoming a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
• Interest in becoming a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)

Candidate will be required to submit to a drug test and background check, provide character and professional references and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving policy in accordance with state and federal laws.
