Job summary

Corning, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support for global customers and projects related to fiber optic networks.

The role involves leading installation and testing, coordinating complex field projects, and delivering training at company locations or customer sites. A BS in a technical field is required, with willingness to travel up to 75% and the ability to obtain a U.S. passport.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field from a recognized college or university.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% (as per job requirements).
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
• Background check, drug screening and driving record checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Master optical test and splice equipment and procedures required to perform work you're leading.
• Travel to customer sites to install, test, and document fiber optic communication systems.
• Act as a Project Leader coordinating and executing all facets of a fiber optic network installation.
• Instruct fiber optic training courses at Corning locations and at customer sites.
• Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers via the Technical Support Line.
• Provide on-site technical assistance and solve problems for Corning customers at various locations.
• Complete on-site investigations of potential product issues raised by customers.
• Act as the primary means of field remediation to resolve quality issues at customer sites.
• Conduct product evaluations on Corning and competitor products.
