Job summary

Tagup is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to join our defense technology team. You will integrate our platform with government data and systems, onboard messy real-world data, and build the workflows that programs run on.

Expect customer-facing work, including on-site deployments and collaboration with government partners. You’ll travel to military installations across the U.S., own components end to end, and contribute to the product with code written to high standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent ability.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with SQL and data-heavy work.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and comfort working with customers.
• Bias toward ownership: deliver a working system from a requirements document.

Responsibilities

• Integrate our platform with government data and systems under real constraints, and onboard imperfect data.
• Configure the product against program requirements and support releases, including in government cloud environments.
• Build custom workflows that drive adoption, usage, and engagement with key customers.
• Triage and resolve customer-reported issues in their environments rather than passing them along.
• Own a component or program workstream end to end, returning working systems from a requirements document.
