Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This includes performing and leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, as well as designing and developing plans and specifications. Responsibilities also encompass observation and inspection, report writing, review of drawings and construction to ensure compliance, preparing proposals and cost estimates, tracking project progress and budgets, and resolving design and construction issues. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports. Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex issues effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Services may be for projects in public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards; participate in pre-task planning; report safety concerns.
  2. Maintain quality standards on all projects.
  3. Develop as an engineering professional; assignments are designed to build knowledge and abilities.
  4. Assist in research, data collection, field observation, inspection, and testing; prepare related reports.
  5. Evaluate routine laboratory and field data for reports.
  6. Consult with technical staff and supervisors on routine projects.
  7. Perform basic calculations and engineering analysis.
  8. Draft routine proposals and assist with complex proposal preparation.
  9. Use CAD software for plan drafting.
  10. Collaborate with engineering technicians on testing, observations, and data gathering; prepare activity reports.
  11. Work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation.
