Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to join the Power Delivery team. You will collaborate on building, estimating, and scheduling heavy industrial construction projects, with a focus on safety and quality.

Travel and relocation are common as projects span across North America. You will develop plan details, manage materials and equipment, and support field operations while growing your technical and leadership skills in a dynamic, union/non-union environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and owner specs.
• Familiarity with project scheduling and cost control techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with listed software is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify discrepancies.
• Willingness to relocate and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dynamic team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial construction projects.
• Prepare detailed work plans and schedules to guide project execution.
• Ensure quality control, manage and track costs, purchase and manage materials, and maintain schedule and equipment logistics.
• Administer safety programs with strict adherence to company philosophy.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with owners and stakeholders.
• Support both administrative and field operations: review drawings/specs, perform material takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates.
• Supervise subcontractors, coordinate with vendors, and uphold high construction standards.
