Job summary

Storage Building Company is seeking a Field Engineer / Assistant Superintendent to join our growing field operations team. This hands-on developmental role targets an early-career construction professional aiming to grow into a Superintendent.

The candidate will work closely with experienced Superintendents while gaining experience in construction, project coordination, safety, quality control, scheduling, and field leadership across travel to active projects.

Qualifications

• 21+ years old.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly for work.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and plans.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day management of construction projects.
• Learn and understand project plans, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and site activities.
• Monitor project progress and communicate updates to the Superintendent and Area Manager.
• Assist with maintaining project schedules and identifying potential delays or issues.
• Conduct regular site walks to monitor work progress, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with material tracking, inventory, and delivery coordination.
• Help identify field conflicts and communicate issues to the team.
• Complete daily reports, project documentation, photographs, and other required field records.
• Follow safety policies and assist in maintaining a safe jobsite.
• Support quality-control inspections and ensure work complies with plans.
