Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Assistant Field Engineer to join the Operations team on a Columbus, OH project. This full-time, in-person role supports field surveying and engineering tasks on site.

The candidate should have 2 years of construction or surveying experience, strong communication and time-management skills, and the ability to operate surveying instruments and software. Lifting 50–100 lbs and outdoor work are required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of construction or surveying experience.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Proficient with standard business software.
• Must understand surveying math.
• Able to lift and carry 50–100 lbs. and work on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic total station, transit, and Auto level surveying instruments.
• Read maps, drawings and diagrams accurately.
• Set and mark stakes for slopes, grades, and construction purposes.
• Determine lines, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions and distances; maintain survey equipment and field books.
