Job summary

RK Industries is seeking a hands-on Maintenance and Administrative professional to support field managers on labor resources, quality control, safety administration, startup and commissioning, and project tool management.

You will coordinate with Field Manager, PM, and purchasing to ensure proper take-offs, timely procurements, and accurate as-built drawings, while maintaining change orders and CPM schedule input for successful project closeout.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred for technical roles.
  • 3–5 years of construction experience, including steel and piping materials.
  • Ability to make independent, authoritative decisions with sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to lead a department or function and build cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage labor resources, quality control, and safety administration.
  • Coordinate permits, licenses, and timely buy-out of materials with Field Manager.
  • Develop and track CPMIS schedules with input from Field Manager and PM.
  • Manage change orders and subcontract requirements per contract documents.
  • Ensure project as-built drawings are kept up to date.
  • Monitor safety program compliance and assist safety manager with accident reports.
  • Schedule daily/weekly scopes of work with Field Manager and teams.

Position Summary

Maintenance and administration functions in support of field managers in the execution, tracking and managementof:labor resources, quality control and quality assurance processes, safety administration,start-upand commissioning administration as well as project tool management. Work with field leadership,PEand PM on internal coordination necessary for successful completion of projects.

Role Responsibilities
  • Ensure daily corporate documentation is completed and up to date, including time cards, daily reports, additional work authorizations, receiving documents, as-built drawings, etc.
  • Coordinate and attend in-house pre-construction meetings.
  • Ensure permits and/or licenses are obtained and current for project.
  • Coordinate timely completion and thorough buy-out procedures on materials and equipment, in conjunction with the Field Manager and purchasing department.
  • Collaborate with Field Manager to ensure Triangulation take-offs are complete, accurate and on time.
  • Responsible for maintaining project as-built drawings.
  • Responsible for the administration of the signed subcontract requirements with respect to conformance with the agreement, contract documents, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with PM and logistics department in the development, preparation, and finalization of RK's mechanical construction CPM schedule with input from Field Manager(s).
  • Coordinate ordering, processing, and delivery of materials and equipment with vendors and purchasing department.
  • Responsible for proper execution of project quality control procedures during construction process, in accordance with the contract documents and RK's policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to manage the process of requisitions, return and/or transfer of project tools.
  • Ensure that change order requests (COR's) are processed in accordance with proper procedures, and that the Field Manager has information required for implementation.
  • Collaborate with Field Manager (s) to provide take-offs for changed conditions.
  • Coordinate and track take-off orders, procurement and release of change order items with the purchasing department and Field Manager(s).
  • Responsible for managing labor resource planning processes which include: development of labor resource charts, tracking and reviewing labor productivity reports and development of short interval plans in conjunction with the LRC (Labor Resource Chart) and LPR (Labor Productivity Report).
  • Responsible for managing and coordination of the start-up and commissioning process.
  • Responsible for job closeout being performed in proper and efficient manner and keeping the Project Manager informed of closeout status including but not limited to: documentation, customer punch-lists, Engineer of Record Observations, start-up and commissioning, tools, demobilization, etc.
  • Collaborate with Field Manager(s) to schedule daily and weekly scope of work activities.
  • Monitor crafts compliance with company/project safety program requirements.
  • Assist safety manger with preparation, documentation, and distribution of accident reports.
  • Maintain proper journeyman to apprentice ratio
  • Execute, supervise and maintain CPMIS.
  • Optimize the profitability of the company by demonstrating the ability of a decision maker with reliable and mature judgement.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a college/university degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is preferred, especially for technical roles.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the construction field, including hands-on experience with steel and piping materials.
  • Ability to make independent decisions with sound judgment.
  • Responsible for managing a single department or functional area, either as a leader or subject-matter expert.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key staff and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to make authoritative decisions and recommendations that significantly influence company operations.
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in addressing and resolving complex, unprecedented challenges.
Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs.
