Job summary

Power Design is seeking a motivated Field Engineer in Florida/Miami to support on-site electrical installation projects and gain hands-on experience under supervision.

You will advance your career through real-world field exposure, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring safety and quality on site. This role suits a college graduate or a professional with 4+ years of relevant work, with growth toward startup and commissioning leadership.

Qualifications

• College graduate with a construction-related degree, or individual with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain firsthand experience of electrical installation scopes including decks, rough, trim, and distribution.
• Provide support with project deliverables throughout all phases of construction, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Help maintain onsite safety culture by recognizing hazards and ensuring corrections.
• Collaborate with senior team members, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, manage labor forecast, inventory, material, and project correspondence.
• Interact with customers and other trades while representing the organization in the field.
• After training, utilize cutting-edge technology to assist on assigned projects.
• Serve as the lead between Systems PMs and Operations installation teams through startup/commissioning, AHJ inspection, and final owner acceptance.
• Schedule low voltage startup, manage technician hours, and coordinate commissioning labor.

About the Position

Power Design is a nationwide electrical contractor and our Field Engineers are working locally on our jobsites, cultivating their career by experiencing our projects firsthand. Under the supervision and mentorship of a Superintendent and project team, you will learn all of the business aspects of running large-scale construction projects. It is a perfect fit for motivated, driven individuals to quickly grow in the organization.

Position Responsibilities

• Gain firsthand experience of the electrical installation scopes of work including decks, rough, trim, and distribution.
• Play a key role in helping the project team succeed by providing support with project deliverables throughout all phases of construction, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Help to continue and build our culture of safety onsite by recognizing safety hazards and ensuring corrections.
• Collaborate with senior team members, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, manage the labor forecast, inventory, material, and project correspondence (orders, timesheets, etc.).
• Interact with customers and other trades while representing the organization in the field.
• After receiving training in our state-of-the-art facility, utilize cutting-edge technology to assist on assigned projects.
• Serve as the lead between Systems PMs and Operations installation teams, playing a key role through final project startup/commissioning, AHJ inspection, and final owner acceptance.
• Be responsible for scheduling the low voltage startup, managing planned technician hours, and coordinating the technician and commissioning labor.
