Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer to support field operations in heavy civil projects across the United States. You will work with project engineers, superintendents, and foremen to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient project delivery from concept to completion.

The role offers growth into leadership roles, with emphasis on quality, cost reporting, schedule adherence, and teamwork. Relocation may be required for ongoing opportunities and career growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in heavy highway, road, or bridge construction (internship or field experience a plus).
  • Experience with projects $10M+ preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction software tools such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, track, and execute field activities with superintendents and foremen according to design and specs.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, cost reporting, and materials tracking.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to keep schedules and budgets on track.
  • Participate in work planning, project documentation, and progress meetings.
  • Implement QA/QC processes to meet construction standards.
  • Identify and resolve field challenges through teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Support change order management, cost reporting, and close-out documentation.
  • Promote Zachry's safety culture so everyone goes home safely.

Position Summary

As a Field Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing and supporting operations in the field. You'll collaborate closely with project engineers, superintendents, and foremen to ensure every project is built safely, accurately, and efficiently from concept to completion. What You'll Do

  • Identify and help resolve field challenges quickly through teamwork and creative problem-solving.
