Job summary

Hilti in South Lawndale, IL seeks a Field Engineer to provide engineering design support, jobsite consultations, and technical solutions using Hilti anchoring and fastening technologies. You will partner with structural engineers, architects, and contractors to specify products in drawings.

This full-time, on-site role requires a Civil/Structural/Mechanical degree and 2+ years of experience; EIT/PE is preferred. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years in engineering design, field engineering, or commercial construction.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics and building codes.
• Excellent client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design support to job sites.
• Perform on-site testing and verification (proof load, pull-out).
• Coordinate specifications to get Hilti products drawn into plans.
• Conduct accredited engineering seminars and training for clients.
• Troubleshoot installation challenges promptly and safely.

About the Opportunity

Hilti is seeking a Field Engineer in South Lawndale, IL. In this technical customer-facing role, you will partner with structural engineers, architects, and construction contractors to provide engineering design support, jobsite consultations, and technical solutions using Hilti anchoring and fastening technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Consulting: Provide engineering advice on commercial jobsites regarding anchor systems, direct fastening, and firestop solutions.

Engineering Specifications: Partner with structural design firms to get Hilti products specified into architectural and engineering drawings.

Jobsite Testing: Perform on-site proof load testing, pull-out tests, and base material evaluations.

Technical Seminars: Conduct accredited engineering seminars and technical training for structural engineering clients.

Project Troubleshooting: Solve challenging jobsite fastening and installation challenges promptly and safely.

Candidate Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 2+ years of engineering design, field engineering, or commercial construction experience.

Certifications: EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or PE license preferred.

Skills: Strong understanding of structural mechanics, building codes (IBC/ACI), and exceptional client-facing communication.
