Job summary

PCL Industrial Services, Inc. in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Field Engineer/Coordinator to support project teams on inspections, safety, and coordination.

You will mentor field staff, coordinate with the superintendent on workforce planning, and help manage documentation, RFIs, shop drawings, changes, and billings. The role emphasizes safety leadership, collaboration with trade contractors, and accurate labor and quantity tracking for cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 12 months of varied field engineer/coordinator experience preferred; internships count.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, methods and procedures.
• Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
• Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
• Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction-related software.

• Identifies issues on-site or in defined work scopes.
• Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, ITP.
• Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.

• 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
• Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
• Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and reports.
• Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
• Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
