Job summary

Integrated Home Care Services, Inc. seeks an Electrical Field Engineer to supervise the installation and construction of electrical systems on active projects. You will inspect sites, assist with testing and commissioning, and coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.

Qualifications

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Construction Supervision: Oversee the installation and construction of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and equipment. Ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of electrical installations, adherence to project plans, and compliance with electrical codes. Identify and resolve any installation issues, discrepancies, or deficiencies promptly.
  • Electrical Testing and Commissioning: Assist in testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems, including conducting performance tests, verifying equipment functionality, and ensuring proper system operation. Coordinate with contractors and third-party testing agencies as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and troubleshoot electrical issues and problems that arise during construction. Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to identify root causes, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, electrical contractors, and field personnel. Clarify design intent, resolve technical queries, and offer expertise in electrical system installation and integration.
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective coordination between design intent and field implementation. Review design documents, specifications, and drawings to identify constructability issues and propose solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare accurate and detailed field reports, including daily progress reports, inspection reports, and test records. Document issues, deviations, and changes in the field and communicate them to the project team for proper resolution.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce and promote adherence to safety protocols and regulations on the construction site. Identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards, and proactively address safety concerns related to electrical installations.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, project managers, and stakeholders regarding field activities, progress, and challenges. Provide updates on electrical construction status, identify potential risks, and offer recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with advancements in electrical technologies, codes, and industry best practices. Attend training sessions, workshops, and industry conferences to enhance knowledge and skills in electrical field engineering.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by leadership.
Position Requirements
  • Position requires extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require their own specific hours of operation.
  • May need to work weekends if business needs require
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 20lbs. regularly
  • Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
  • Position requires the ability to stand, squat, & reach
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to exercise precaution in the handling of tools and equipment
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions
  • Crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for 8 plus hours per day
  • Be subject to motor or machine noise
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Field Engineer or related role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, control systems, and equipment.
  • 2 years of experience in field construction management

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
