Job summary

Durin Mining Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Responsible Engineer to own subsystems from requirements through field performance for our autonomous drilling rigs.

You will build software that integrates with hardware on rigs, deployed in both on-prem and cloud environments, with field responsibilities across El Segundo and South Africa. You’ll work with other software engineers, controls engineers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end workflows, from machine control to web visualization, and

Qualifications

• Strong in Python/TypeScript/Rust with solid architectural principles.
• Experience with SQL databases and self-managed deployments.
• DevOps across AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC (Terraform).
• Networking experience: firewalls, routers, switches, CIDR, DNS.
• Cloud security best practices including OWASP Top 10 and Zero Trust.
• Deployment and operation of apps on prem and cloud.
• Authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Linux, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Industrial or hardware-adjacent experience is key.
• Willing to work across El Segundo and South Africa time zones.

Responsibilities

• Build software systems that integrate with hardware and control systems.
• Own core infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
• Drive edge-computing strategies for low-latency analytics and autonomous decision-making.
• Fully own software lifecycle from requirements through deployment and field support.
• Collaborate with software engineers, controls engineers, and data scientists on end-to-end workflows from machine control to web viz.
