Job summary

LA Metro in Los Angeles seeks a skilled Electronics Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair communications and electronic equipment on buses and other Metro vehicles.

Requires 2-year electronics schooling or equivalent, an FCC license, 3 years of field service experience, and a California Class C driver license. Willingness to travel to offsite locations and provide own tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a 2-year electronics program or college with related lab work.
• 3 years' field service experience with two-way radios or digital equipment.
• FCC General Radio/Telephone Operators License is required.
• California Class C driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service maintenance on two-way radio, headsign, public address, digital video, and silent alarm systems on coaches and Metro vehicles.
• Repair circuit boards and electronic components at the bench level of communications equipment.
• Install electronic communications and fare collection equipment on Metro vehicles.
• Prepare routine maintenance records and report activity; suggest improvements.
