Job summary

SoTalent is seeking a Field Electronics Technician to support nuclear outage projects and critical energy infrastructure across the United States and neighboring countries. You will troubleshoot electronic systems, repair PCBs, and provide field service across demanding environments.

Are you a hands-on electronics professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, traveling to customer sites, and supporting mission-critical energy operations?

We are seeking a Field Electronics Technician to support nuclear power plant outages and critical energy infrastructure projects throughout the United States and neighboring countries. This role focuses on advanced electronics troubleshooting, PCB-level diagnostics and repair, and field support of sophisticated electronic systems used in demanding operational environments.

The ideal candidate combines strong expertise in electronic troubleshooting, circuit board repair, test equipment operation, schematic interpretation, and field service operations with a willingness to travel extensively and work directly with customers in high-impact environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot electronic systems down to the component level.
  • Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in field environments.
  • Perform systematic root cause analysis to identify failures.
  • Utilize technical documentation and schematics to support troubleshooting activities.
  • Restore equipment functionality quickly and effectively.
PCB Repair & Component-Level Maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Identify defective electronic components and circuit failures.
  • Perform board-level testing and verification.
  • Support repair and restoration of mission-critical electronic systems.
  • Ensure repaired equipment meets operational and performance standards.
Test Equipment Operation
  • Utilize industry-standard diagnostic tools including:
  • Digital Multimeters
  • Signal Analysis Equipment
  • Electronic Diagnostic Tools
  • Conduct measurements, testing, and validation of system performance.
  • Document troubleshooting findings and repair activities.
  • Support equipment verification and acceptance testing.
Field Service & Technical Support
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the United States and neighboring countries.
  • Support nuclear outage projects and other critical energy-sector operations.
  • Perform on-site diagnostics and repairs under demanding schedules.
  • Provide technical support to field teams and customers.
  • Ensure systems remain operational during critical project periods.
Technical Documentation & Schematic Analysis
  • Read and interpret:
  • Electrical Schematics
  • System Documentation
  • Technical Manuals
  • Utilize documentation to support troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Record service activities and repair results.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and reporting.
  • Work closely with:
  • Field Managers

  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and repair status.
  • Support successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the organization professionally in customer environments.
Critical Infrastructure Support
  • Assist in maintaining equipment that supports mission-critical energy operations.
  • Support outage schedules and project milestones.
  • Prioritize safety, reliability, and quality during all field activities.
  • Contribute to operational readiness and equipment availability.
Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Experience diagnosing electronic systems at the component level.
