Job summary

New Era Technology in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electro-mechanical cooling equipment at customer sites. You’ll work with electrical and mechanical systems and solve technical problems in the field.

The role requires at least 2 years of on-site experience with electrical/mechanical equipment, the ability to read schematics, and independent, customer‑facing work.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience repairing or maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, HVAC systems, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, compressors, pumps, generators, or similar machinery.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Experience working on 200-440V electrical equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable replacing electrical and mechanical components.
• Able to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, start up, and service cooling equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Replace faulty parts such as motors, sensors, relays, switches, actuators, and other components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Read electrical wiring diagrams and basic technical drawings.
• Test equipment and verify proper operation after repairs.
• Complete service reports after each visit.
• Provide professional customer service while working onsite.
• Travel to customer locations when needed.
