Job summary

Boart Longyear seeks an EHS&T Supervisor to lead environmental, health, safety and training initiatives across drilling divisions in the western region. The role is field-based, spending substantial time with drill crews and operations leaders to reinforce safe practices and training standards.

The supervisor will drive competency development, track training requirements, conduct site visits, and ensure regulatory and internal safety documentation is current and field-ready.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or 7+ years of mining experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as an on-site EHS&T leader, coaching safe behaviors with drill crews.
• Owns and executes safety training programs with operational leadership and HR.
• Advances field personnel competency and readiness for advancement.
• Tracks training requirements and drilling competencies and closes gaps with targeted training.
• Conducts frequent site visits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Provides EHS&T oversight for office and maintenance shop operations.
• Ensures safety documentation is accurate and field-ready.
• Investigates incidents, near misses, and injuries and drives corrective actions.
• Prepares regulatory and internal EHS reports.
• Partners with leadership to enforce EHS&T expectations.
• Escalates safety concerns and mitigates risk promptly.
• Represents the company at safety meetings and field events.
• Supports recruiting of field personnel and HR alignment.
• Travels extensively to support operations across states.
• Performs other duties as required.
