Job summary

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support dealership and collision center operations across the region.

The role partners with Regional EHS Managers to promote a proactive safety culture, conduct on-site audits, training, and incident management. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of field safety experience, strong communication, and travel up to 75% of the time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of field experience in safety, training, compliance, or operations.
• Ability to build relationships and influence operational leaders.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with EHS or LMS systems a plus.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability implementing EHS programs independently across multiple sites.
• Ability to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Provide field-level support, audits, training, and safety campaigns.
• Maintain OSHA logs, incident records, training rosters, and audit tracking tools.
• Enter safety data in reporting systems and assist with user management.
• Deliver safety newsletters, posters, and campaign materials across dealership teams.
• Schedule safety meetings, training sessions, and onboarding events.
• Assist in incident investigations and manage workers’ compensation cases.
• Support EHS initiatives and continuous improvement across dealerships.
• Represent management in site EHS meetings and coordinate with EHS teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
