Job summary

Apex Clean Energy is seeking an EHS Specialist to provide operational safety support, field monitoring, and compliance coordination across wind, solar, and storage facilities. The role involves site inspections, incident support, data collection, and ongoing SMS improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of general safety experience in industrial or utility settings, with wind/solar exposure preferred.
• OHST/CHST or equivalent certification preferred; OSHA 10/30 or 510 certification; First Aid/CPR; Tower Rescue cert (or plan to obtain).
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations (1910/1926) and NFPA 70E; fall protection knowledge; wind/solar/storage safety protocols; basic safety metrics review.

Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly EHS compliance inspections across assigned sites.
• Review and organize safety documentation monthly; ensure audit-ready records and timely filing.
• Track updates in regional safety requirements; maintain facility compliance binders.
• Support incident investigations; draft preliminary reports within 48 hours.
• Log corrective actions and ensure 30-day closure of open items or as agreed.
