Job summary

The Pizzo Group is seeking an entry-level field crew member to perform in-the-field outdoor tasks year-round. This full-time role involves working with a diverse crew on challenging terrain and adverse weather, including safety-focused training provided by the company.

You will engage in brush clearing, plant installations, erosion control, weed management, and occasional prescribed fire. Travel may occur, with stipends provided for overnight trips when necessary.

Qualifications

• Driver’s license is a plus.
• Basic measurement units (inches, feet, ounces, pounds).
• Ability to read a map and follow written directions.
• Develop effective working relationships with other employees.
• A passion for the outdoors, nature, or plants.
• Ability to work in team environments on varied terrain.

Responsibilities

• Brush clearing and site preparation activities.
• Installation of native plants, seed, and erosion control materials.
• Stewardship activities including mowing, hand pulling of weeds, and herbicide application to control invasive species.
• Application of prescribed fire.
