Job summary

EnviroScience, Inc. is seeking an Ecological Restoration Technician to support restoration projects across Ohio.

You will assist in planting native vegetation, controlling invasive species, monitoring habitats, and collecting field data with a collaborative team of ecologists, project managers, and technicians. This full-time seasonal, hybrid role involves fieldwork outdoors and occasional office time in Stow.

Qualifications

• Education: Pursuing or holding a bachelor's in an environmental science related field (Restoration Ecology, Conservation Biology, Botany, Forestry).
• Experience with invasive and native vegetation identification, and with native plant installation or maintenance.
• Experience operating and servicing power tools including chainsaws, brush saws, and augers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planting, watering, and maintenance of native vegetation.
• Implement invasive species control measures.
• Conduct habitat restoration activities including streambank stabilization, erosion control, and wetland restoration.
• Perform soil preparation, seed collection, and seeding of restoration sites.
• Collect and record field data accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor restoration sites to assess plant health and project progress.
• Use GPS and GIS to map site conditions and progress.
• Operate and maintain field equipment and tools.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment inventory.
