Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group is hiring a Staff Engineer to support environmental and civil engineering projects, including design, installation, monitoring, and regulatory compliance for landfills and transfer stations.

The role involves fieldwork, travel, and overnight stays, with supervision from senior staff. A 4-year degree and strong communication skills are required, and EIT/PE or surveying skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 0–4 years of experience in engineering.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work independently as well as in a team.
• EIT or PE certification desired.
• Proficiency in surveying desired.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D desired.
• Soils mechanics class with laboratory desired.
• Ability to travel will be required, often on limited notice.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing engineering plans including grading, drainage, utilities, and storm water management.
• Support solid waste engineering design and permitting for landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities.
• Prepare technical reports such as operating plans, QA/QC, and permit applications.
• Collect air and water monitoring samples.
• Analyze technical data and communicate findings clearly.
• Use AutoCAD to design projects and draft drawings.
• Monitor construction activities on site, including QA/QC inspections.
• Coordinate with senior staff and manage field oversight across multiple states.
• Support senior staff to complete tasks as needed.
