Job summary

Novastone Capital Advisors is seeking a hands-on CEO for Horizon Underground Inc., a Southern California-based underground utility contractor. The role requires leading field-based teams, delivering growth, and owning P&L to scale the business responsibly.

The successful candidate will drive operational discipline, safety, and cultural stewardship while expanding capabilities in directional drilling, trenching, fiber deployment, and utility construction.

Qualifications

• 5 to 15 years of leadership experience in infrastructure, industrial services, construction, utilities, or related B2B sectors.
• Proven full P&L responsibility with revenue growth and margin expansion.
• Operational leadership across multi-site or regional organizations.
• Experience leading field-based teams including project managers, superintendents, and skilled trades.
• Financial fluency including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital allocation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale Horizon Underground Inc. through its next growth phase with operational excellence and strategic oversight.
• Build systems, processes, and leadership bench to support sustainable expansion.
• Partner with frontline crews, project managers, and customers to drive performance and safety.
• Shape strategy, culture, and governance in a critical infrastructure business.
