Job summary

The Humane Society Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs seeks an Animal Law Enforcement Sergeant to lead ALE operations, balancing field response with administrative duties while upholding humane animal care and public safety.

You will supervise ALE staff, coordinate service obligations, manage performance, and work with partners to advance the organization’s mission. Strong certifications and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of animal care and control field experience or equivalent law enforcement.
• Must obtain Colorado Department of Agriculture Bureau of Animal Protection State Agent status within one year.
• Pass the Animal Law Enforcement certification test within one year.
• Successfully complete the Animal Law Enforcement training academy.
• Meets and maintains the requirements of an Animal Law Enforcement Officer III within one year.
• Must have and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Leads ALE staff and supervises performance.
• Oversees ALE service contractual obligations for division efficiency.
• Participates in ALE leadership team for direction and strategy.
• Directs recruitment, hiring, and training of ALE staff.
• Ensures enforcement of laws and promotes humane community relations.
• Maintains accurate reporting and monthly statistics.
• Oversees divisional budget and procurement of supplies.
