Job summary

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a Field Dock & Door Service Technician with installation experience and mechanical knowledge. You will be part of the Warehouse Products Service Team, responsible for installing, diagnosing, and repairing warehouse docks and doors across facilities.

The role emphasizes safe, efficient operation with minimal supervision, clear communication about downtime, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Must have minimum 1 year experience installing and repairing loading dock equipment, commercial doors, and high-speed doors.
  • Ability to complete DOT medical certification if assigned.
  • Clean driving record and 21 years or older.
  • Possessing or ability to obtain a complete line of tools.

Responsibilities

  • Install, diagnose, and repair warehouse docks and doors.
  • Repair docks and rollup doors to safety standards.
  • Perform new installations on Dock and Door projects.
  • Communicate downtime and progress to customers and internal teams.

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with installation experience, mechanical knowledge, and Dock & Door industry experience to join our team as a Field Dock & Door Service Technician. ABOUT THE POSITION

Field Dock & Door Service Techs function as part of the Warehouse Products Service Team and are responsible for installing, diagnosing, and repairing warehouse docks and doors.

In this role you will:

  • Repair Warehouse Docks and Rollup Doors to bring each customer's facility back to operational safety standards through safety protocols, evaluating repair needs, and communicating those effectively with the customer.
  • Performing New Installation on Dock and Door projects.
  • Effectively communicate with all involved parties about possible downtime and job progress to include the Warehouse Products team so that they may also provide quality customer service and customer communications.
  • Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 1 year experience installing and repairing loading dock equipment, commercial doors, and high-speed doors preferred
  • Minimum 21 years of age with a clean driving record
  • Above-average communication skills
  • Ability to complete DOT medical certification if assigned DOT-rated vehicle
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Possessing or having the ability to obtain a complete line of tools
SKILLS THAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS MAY INCLUDE:
  • Electrical experience, including proper use of a multimeter
  • General knowledge of operating various equipment
  • Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness

RELATED EXPERIENCE MAY INCLUDE: Dock Equipment Installer, Commercial Door Technician, Dock Maintenance Technician, Warehouse Door Installer

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

This position:

  • will be working in operating facilities and outdoors traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply.
  • will be frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
  • requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis.
  • requires driving a van/truck to and from customer locations
  • must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.
