Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. is seeking a Directional Bore Operator/ Locator to support construction and upgrade of underground utilities. You will load and operate bore equipment, locate utilities, and place cables according to blueprints in various field environments.

Travel weekly with hotel accommodations and per diem; you will perform pre-shift inspections, prepare drilling fluids, connect conduits, and complete all job documentation while adhering to safety policies and company standards.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating a directional bore, preferably in telecommunications.
• Previous rock boring experience.
• Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload directional bore equipment securely.
• Transport tools, materials and equipment safely.
• Perform daily inspection of bore equipment prior to work.
• Prepare drill fluid based on site conditions.
• Locate/operate directional drill with heads and back reamers to place cables.
• Operate horizontal directional drill equipment per standards.
• Locate cables and verify with blueprints.
• Identify utilities in construction areas and bore path.
• Connect conduit and wire.
• Dig pits, trenches or windows when crossing utilities.
• Restore landscapes disturbed areas.
• Complete required documentation (timesheet, vehicle log, expense report).
• Adhere to safety policies and work safely.
• Perform other duties to help team complete a project.
