Job summary
United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with minimal supervision. You will travel to customer sites, train junior technicians, and ensure accurate documentation of work performed.
The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service, with opportunities to advance within the Service Department.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment.
- Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
- Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
- Other duties assigned as needed
