Job summary

Equipment Experts, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Technician in Lakewood, WA.

The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and QA of field repairs for our diverse equipment, including trucks, forklifts, and heavy gear, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. The position requires coordinating with customers and internal teams, using tablets and field tools, and maintaining precise repair documentation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years in production or fleet shop environment.
  • Willingness to learn different equipment types.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair equipment; document repairs per service order.
  • Communicate job status with customer, advisor and lead technician.
  • Perform complete inspections and document progress; ensure safe repairs.
  • Possess and use appropriate tooling; operate service truck safely.

Job description

Job is located in Lakewood, WA.

**Pay range: $32/hr. to $50/hr. based on relevant experience, plus monthly bonuses**

***This position has a $2500 sign on bonus & a $2500 six month retention bonus***

This Field Technician role is Wednesday through Saturday (4/10's start time is 7am).

The Field Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing quality assurance of field repairs for Equipment Experts’ customers. The Field Technician plays a crucial role: aligning excellent diagnostic and repair abilities with our customers' need to deliver excellence safely. This position is highly collaborative, internally facing and requires a high level of experience and understanding of universal system functions.

Performance Objectives
  • Diagnose, repair, accurately document machine repairs and information per service order.
  • Communicate status of job in progress with customer, service advisor, and lead technician.
  • Perform accurate, complete, and documented inspections per unit.
  • Accurately document and communicate work in progress.
  • Possess adequate tooling to perform repairs safely and effectively.

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of experience in a production or fleet shop
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment as required.
  • Stand for multiple hours at a time.
  • Ability to work around hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work in weather conditions.
