Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment across customer sites in New Mexico. You’ll travel to job sites, service equipment, and ensure safety and quality while maintaining professional relationships with customers.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid license, and 1–2 years of experience or trade school graduate. You’ll join a team dedicated to safety, training, and exceptional service in a dynamic field

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engines.
• Superior customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
