Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions to repair and maintain complex diesel-powered rental and customer equipment at various sites in Bridgeport, CT. You’ll work with limited supervision, ensuring safe, high-quality service.

The role requires advanced mechanical aptitude, knowledge of engines and hydraulics, and the ability to read schematics. You will document work orders and may train junior technicians while occasionally traveling to customer

Qualifications

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower-level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate equipment to customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
