Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions in Columbia, SC. You will perform maintenance and repairs on complex diesel systems on customer-owned equipment with limited supervision, traveling to sites as needed and demonstrating equipment to customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment with limited supervision.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; keep vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
